Reporting to the Director of Parks and Recreation, the Manager plans, develops and administers a program to provide youth (12 to 18 years) community development and engagement opportunities, through youth recreation and technology based programs for the Town of Ingersoll.
The Manager will manage all the administrative, marketing, program development, funding opportunities, facility operations and all support activities through several full time, full time contract, part time and seasonal employees.
The Manager is responsible for all programming, strategic planning, personnel, financial management, program evaluation and outcomes, policy development, partnership development, facility operations, and special projects/events at the Fusion Youth Activity and Technology Centre.
Skills / Competencies / Experience Desired
- University or Community College graduate in Recreation Leadership Management, Community Development, or Social Development Studies with a specialty in Youth Program Delivery Systems (preference may be given to an individual with a University Degree) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years working with youth in an administrative capacity
- Demonstrated respect for cultural and human diversity amongst youth and an ability to involve and empower youth
- Experience with developing, implementing and monitoring program logic model evaluation tools and communicating outcomes and impacts to key stakeholders
- Experience in developing, implementing and measuring youth programs
- Sound knowledge of current trends and issues facing children and youth
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial and federal legislation relating to children and youth services
- Experience operating Social Enterprises is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player and coach who is able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, youth, youth-related organizations, key stakeholders, funders and service providers, municipal councils, and the general public
- Possesses the attributes and qualities of a positive role model and an ability to interact and relate to youth in ways that support positive character building
- Experience with innovative revenue generating models, fundraising, report and grant writing and established ability as a public event speaker, conference/symposium presenter
- Knowledge of Harm Reduction Model, 40 youth developmental assets, PMAB or CPI training, and positive youth development is an asset
- Possesses or is willing to obtain current CPR Certification and Standard First Aid
- Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with committee and board governance and processes
Compensation
Salary Range: $32.05/hour to $38.06/hour - 35 hours per week
(Flexible work hours – possible evenings & weekends)
