The ICET economic development intern program was developed to support new graduate participation in regional economic development by providing targeted economic development training, mentorship and employment experience.
Participation in the program will lead to the development of skills and knowledge in the areas of regional and community economic development, project development and evaluation, grant funding administration, post project measurement and analysis, community outreach, communications and Board governance principles.
The successful applicant will be provided with basic orientation and training as well as the opportunity to participate in regional economic development training and networking events. Mentorship will be provided by ICET staff and expert consultants, and the applicant will have the opportunity to interact with a broad range of regional local government officials and staff, economic development professionals, First Nations, non profits, provincial government and other stakeholders.
2015 Intern Program
One 8 month paid internship will be available from September 2015 to April 2016. The position will be situated at the ICET office in Courtenay, with some travel to communities in the ICET region as required.
