Salary(s): XM2 $87,908.00 - $105,100.00 per year
These positions will be of interest to individuals seeking involvement in the development and delivery of Manitoba programs related to wildlife, fisheries, lands, forestry and fire.

Qualifications:

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Manitoba Class 5 drivers licence.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the province on occasion.

Essential:

  • An undergraduate or Master's degree in the social or physical sciences combined with relevant experience in the delivery of park and fire operations as well as integrated planning of resource and environmental services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent leadership skills including the ability to build a high functioning, cohesive team.
  • Experience working with Natural Resource related programs and issues.
  • Experience working with and understanding of Treaties and Aboriginal Rights in Manitoba.
  • Superior interpersonal skills for the purposes of building and maintaining positive and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem solving, judgment and critical thinking skills required to make appropriate and timely decisions.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced written communication skills for the purposes of drafting, reviewing and editing a wide variety of documents and correspondence.
  • Highly developed political acumen for the purposes of navigating and resolving highly sensitive and contentious issues through the use of diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and issues in a fast paced environment.
  • Financial management experience including administering and overseeing budgets.
  • Supervisory experience including previous experience with performance management and workplace diversity.

Desired:

  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies and regulations.

Duties:

These positions are accountable for the administration, development, management and delivery of regional resource programs through an integrated and sustainable management process within the policies and guidelines of the Department of Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship. These programs include a multi-disciplinary staff responsible for the inspection, compliance monitoring and enforcement of legislation respecting forestry, wildlife, parks, lands, fisheries and fire programs across the regions.
