Role Purpose:

The Community Development/Marketing Coordinator provides relationship management principles and techniques to increase program awareness. The role collaborates, and fosters strong partnerships with key community partners, resulting in new and existing client engagement and organizational growth.

Build relationships with new and existing entrepreneurs, community organizations and groups

  • Support the organization in meeting the regional business and community development service targets
  • Attend and coordinate events that provide opportunities to engage perspective and current entrepreneurs, businesses, community groups and organizations
  • Increase program awareness and participation to potential clients and community groups in the region by delivering seminars, attending tradeshows and special events (regional travel required)
  • Manage program inquiries and intake
  • Maintain relationships with existing CF clients identifying service support and post care opportunities
  • Create connections to other programs and resources available to support rural business success and community development
  • Support the development and execution of special CF programs and initiatives

Build and maintain relationships with key partners and networks

  • Identify potential referral partners
  • Attend events that provide the opportunity to engage existing referral partners and identify new partnering opportunities
  • Manage referral partner inquiries
  • Connect with referral partners on a regular basis to keep top of mind, ensuring CF White Horse Plains program understanding, maintaining existing relationships, and identifying additional resources that support both business clients and community development initiatives

Promote and market CF Whitehorse program

  • Identify regional marketing vehicles and potential target markets
  • Identify community and market trends
  • Develop and execute a marketing and communication strategy that reflects creative ways to promote the CF program
  • Ensure CF marketing materials up to date and on hand
  • Coordinate and execute events that provide the opportunity to promote the CF program
  • Facilitate presentations and workshops that promote the organizations programs and support entrepreneurial and community group skill development
  • Lead on all marketing and communication activities and logistics
  • Maintain and update information on the CF website, all social media streams, other information and communication vehicles

Administrative duties

  • Maintain organizational resource center and ensure all service provider information is current
  • Set client intake targets and develop an execution strategy to achieve targets
  • Provide the Executive Director support in the development of required organizational reports by ensuring data base entries and files are up to date and accurate, which include detailed client intake status updates and report input
  • Maintain current client and partner contact information to ensure key organizational information can be distributed in an efficient manner
  • Other administrative duties identified by the Executive Director relating to the job position and organizational requirements

Key Competency Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in a sales and marketing
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in relationship and network development which includes all levels of government and business/community service provider networks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence
  • Strong client focus with the ability to work with diverse business and community clients
  • Ability to develop and facilitate program presentations and workshops
  • Strong leadership skills to attract and retain entrepreneurs, community groups and community partners
  • Strong knowledge of small business development and community development principles, practices and resources is an asset
  • Knowledge or experience working in the not for profit sector is an asset
  • Event planning and execution experience is an asset
  • Team oriented, confident, proactive and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
