Want to help market a beautiful, green social enterprise community space, committed to values of diversity, social justice, sustainability, and community? Are you freelancing or working for a socially/environmentally conscious nonprofit organization, social enterprise, community group, or personal project? Struggling to afford office space?
Spend one day a week at the Hub helping to market our:
- event spaces
- art gallery space
- yoga and dance studio
- co-working space
- gardens (May involve occasionally staffing events.)
In return, get two days a week to pursue your own projects at a hot desk in our open-concept office space, rent-free!
Program Length: 3 months
Application deadline: rolling until positions are filled.
Starts: March/April 2016
Qualifications
- Experience with marketing and sales for many/all of the following:
- event rental spaces
- yoga/dance studios
- co-working or office spaces
- art gallery spaces
- green-design buildings
- printing/copying businesses
- social enterprises
- Knowledge of how to market these spaces in Toronto, particularly online
- Experience marketing to culturally, ethnically, and/or socio-economically diverse communities
- Networks in Toronto in the following areas a major asset:
- Riverdale and surrounding east end neighborhoods
- Social enterprise or nonprofit sectors
- Environmental sustainability
- Arts and culture
- Immigrant communities
- Teachers and students of yoga, dance, other spiritual or movement practices
- Intent to become a co-working space member-tenant after the 3-month work exchange
Additional helpful expertise and assets:
- graphic design
- social media
- wix, wordpress, or html
- web design
- fluency in multiple languages
- writing, copy-writing
- telemarketing
- small enterprise development
- community outreach
