Since 2010, the WRENCH has been providing unprecedented access to bicycles and cycling programming to the people of Winnipeg. We envision a city where everyone is empowered to experience their community by bicycle.
We are seeking talented and enthusiastic people for two positions, as follows:
Term Position: June 13, 2016 to December 16, 2016 (with possibility of renewal/extension) 20 hours per week @ $17.00 per hour.
The WRENCH is seeking a Development Coordinator. It wishes to expand its community role by developing a satellite site, and by increasing its sales of recovered and rebuilt bicycles.
Job Description
- Prepare a long-term plan for the partnership with the site partner.
- Liaise with the site partner.
- Schedule all personnel for the site, including staff and volunteers, in cooperation with the other staff and the volunteer coordinator.
- Ensure that the site is properly equipped with tools and parts for the repair and maintenance of client bicycles.
- Ensure that the site is properly supplied with appropriate goods for sale, including rebuilt bikes and all accessories.
- Maintain records of all sales and the number of client bicycles for which instruction and assistance has been provided.
- Create an overall strategy for the sale of ready-to-ride bikes, as-is bikes and used parts.
- Coordinate and track sales of all bikes and parts.
- Manage the production flow of all bikes.
- Create and distribute all printed advertising materials.
- Manage all build days for ready-to-ride bikes.
- Organize and manage all off-site sales, such as bike bazaars and pop-up outlets.
- Report to the Board on the operation of the site and the sales program.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in managing production and sales operations.
- Experience with bike repair, and familiarity with community bike shops.
- The ability to self-direct, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.
- Experience working in a team setting.
- Experience working with non-profit/community organizations and Boards.
- Awareness and sensitivity to issues of marginalization (sexism, racism, classism) and cultural diversity.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and newcomer communities.
- Experience working with youth and knowledge of community-based, youth-serving organizations.
- Experience building consensus within and between organizations.
The successful candidates will be required to complete child abuse registry checks, and criminal record checks.
