NorWest Co-op Community Health is looking for a dynamic fundraising professional who will be accountable for developing and implementing a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities for the new NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre. Reporting to the Director of the NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre, the Development Coordinator will lead the Community Food Centre’s fundraising program.
The Primary Responsibilities for the Development Coordinator will include:
- Ensuring ongoing support from existing donors and working with others to cultivate new donors from individuals, foundations and local businesses;
- Build and support a growing team of volunteers on the CFC Fundraising Roundtable so that they are fully engaged in the ongoing identification of new donors;
- Develop and execute a direct mail program;
- Ensure there are robust tracking, receipting, thanking and overall stewardship systems in place;
- Develop an overall fundraising plan with quarterly activity and revenue targets
- Support for special events as needed
- Work with communications staff to develop a case for support and support activities to build the brand of the Community Food Centre.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a fundraising position;
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and/or equivalent work experience;
- Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles and practices;
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal skills;
- A self-starter with excellent attention to detail who works well in a fast paced environment;
- Established connections to local donor community and general development environment;
- Diplomatic, confident, organized, assertive, enthusiastic team player;
- Commitment and passion for food security, health, community development and social justice;
