JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fund Developer identifies prospects, provides research and analysis to the Executive Director, board and volunteer peer-fundraisers to attract and retain individual donors. They develop a list of prospects to support the organization's activities and goals. They assist in the development of a strong philanthropic culture, including training key peer-fundraisers. The Fund Developer processes, tracks and analyses giving, prepares monthly reports and forecasts for the Executive Director, and represents the organization at networking events and with individual donors. They assist in the development of a stewardship plan and communications. Stewardship of corporate donations and sponsorships is also a key responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree or relevant experience in Community Economic Development, business, with courses in Fundraising preferred.
- Self-starter with ability to network among business and philanthropic leaders.
- Clear understanding of LITE's mission, purpose and impact.
- Minimum 1 year experience identifying donor prospects, stewarding new and existing donors and enriching donor experiences.
- Experience engaging new and existing individual donors.
- Experience working with corporate donors and sponsors considered an asset.
- Experience analyzing trends in giving, identifying key prospects and assisting in the development of a fundraising strategy.
- Experience working with volunteers and board to identify and attract new donors to the organization.
- Experience with Giftworks or equivalent database preferred.
- Experience with Quickbooks considered an asset.
- Some evening work is required.
- Access to a vehicle is an asset.
