The Organization

Momentum is an award winning and nationally recognized community economic development organization utilizing innovative approaches to poverty reduction. Thrive is a community leadership initiative of Momentum, which works with local economy leaders, entrepreneurs, and neighbourhood champions to build a thriving, resilient and inclusive economy for all. This year
Momentum (Thrive) is pleased to be a host partner for EconoUs2017; a national Community Economic Development gathering.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide event planning support for EconoUs2017
  • Provide fund development support for EconoUs2017
  • Provide onsite support for EconoUs2017
  • Develop content for EconoUs2017 and Thrive communications
  • Manage social media content for EconoUs2017 and Thrive

Who we’re looking for:

A dynamo! You see yourself as an efficient multitasker capable of providing logistical support for a large conference (September 13 – 15). You are self-motivated and excel working independently. You love to write and find ease in navigating social media platforms.

What you need to do it well:

  • You have demonstrated organization skills
  • You have event planning experience
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills
  • You have experience managing social media content for organizations

Key Areas of Responsibility

Provide event planning and onsite support for EconoUs2017

  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers
  • Develop a participant kit that aligns with the values of EconoUs
  • Develop a conference map and signage based on a campus model approach
  • Support administration of bursary applications
  • Support logistics for exhibitors
  • Be onsite during EconoUs2017 to assist with set up, delivery, and take down.

Provide fund development support

  • Draft sponsorship agreements
  • Support management of sponsorship agreements

Develop content for EconoUs and Thrive communications

  • Creative writing for EconoUs and Thrive including blogs
  • Creative writing for Thrive newsletters
  • Support content development for www.thrivecalgary.org

Manage social media content for EconoUs and Thrive

  • Develop, schedule and post content on social media based on communication plans for EconoUs and Thrive
  • Social media engagement to grow followers for Thrive
