Program Manager, Property Maintenance Social Enterprise Pilot
The John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland is seeking an experienced, dedicated and customer-oriented professional for the full-time role of Program Manager on a contract term until June 1, 2018.
ROLE PURPOSE
Ensure that JHSLM successfully establishes, delivers, measures and evaluates the impact of a social enterprise pilot project that will deliver property maintenance services and provide supported employment opportunities for individuals who have had involvement with the criminal justice system.
REPORTING
The Program Manager will report to our Executive Director of Corporate Development.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Identify the service areas for the pilot based initially on the maintenance and repair needs at the JHSLM owned properties, anticipated demand coming from potential future customers, and the skills and experience of the program participants.
- Complete and deliver program updates and reports to both JHSLM senior management and to the funder on a monthy basis and as required.
- Design, develop and manage the key processes and systems to identify, schedule, deliver and evaluate the work, both from a customer and program participant perspective.
- Manage and ensure ongoing communication across the pilot project team.
- Ensure that the program meets all relevant regulatory requirements such as OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) requirements.
- Complete an initial feasibility analysis of launching and sustaining a social enterprise based on what is learned from this pilot.
- Ensure an evaluation of the impact for the program participants is completed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You are a highly motivated individual with a proven ability to work within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. You will possess:
- Experience with a social enterprise that provides supported employment for individuals with barriers to employment.
- Strong project management and implementation experience with proven ability to manage and coordinate a project team
- Significant and recent experience with property/building maintenance (ie. 2 years or more)
- Familiarity with relevant codes, legislation and standards related to buildings (both residential and commercial) would be an asset
- Degree, diploma and/or trade certificate in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience
- Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle and flexibility to travel throughout the Lower Mainland (from Vancouver to Abbotsford)
- Experience with computers and proficiency in the use of appropriate software, including the Microsoft Office suite, Windows, and Microsoft SharePoint
- Strong communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
- Ability to satisfy the requirements of our funders in regards to previous criminality as deemed necessary.
- Strong desire to work within the Social Services sector, and be a part of the John Howard Society team.
COMPENSATION
Annual Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for the Society’s comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
