The Village of McBride is seeking a Community Economic Development Coordinator (CEDC) to provide leadership through broad community involvement that promotes the economic well-being of the McBride and area community, while understanding that a social and environmentally healthy community is vital to the long-term sustainability of the Village of McBride and the Robson Valley.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the CEDC will lead and be responsible for community economic development initiatives, will liaise with elected officials, members of the private sector, and the public at large, and will serve as an advocate and champion for McBride community economic development initiatives with local, regional, and provincial partners and stakeholders. The CEDC will take the lead role in developing and implementing a 5-year economic development strategy for the Village and surrounding area.
We are looking for an energetic, motivated, team player and relationship builder with a broad general knowledge of business and government, and an in-depth knowledge of the Robson Valley and its business environment. Experience in marketing and public administration, as well as good communication skills would be an asset, along with post-secondary education and/or a successful background in economic or community development.
The wages for this position will be commensurate with the education and experience the successful candidate brings to the position. This position is within the CLAC Local 501 bargaining unit and is a grant-funded dependent opportunity.
