Medicine Children’s Lodge Daycare is looking for that special someone who has a unique personality, a cheerful disposition and a connection to their grassroots to join us in our daycare. They offer their children a play based curriculum in music, art, literature, physical activity, personal hygiene and healthy eating. We strive to incorporate all aspects of our Indigenous culture into our daily programming. Their center works with 16 infant and preschool aged children – 4 infant and 12 preschool aged children.
Their current hours of operation are from 8:30 – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with infant and preschool children
- Experience with facilitating and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for all ages of children
- Successful completion of or enrolled in the 40 hour course “Introduction to Early Childhood Education”, or relevant course, and/or willing to completed within first year of employment
- Team player with excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, customs, and traditions
- Have ability to work with a diverse team
- Knowledge of ELCC regulations and Best Practices
- Ability to think outside the box
- Child Care Assistant classification (from MELCC)
- Current First Aid and CPR training (Level C)
- A new Self-Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search completed,
- A new Self-Child Abuse Registry Check with vulnerable sector search completed,
- Additional assets: flexible, friendly, caring, understanding, punctual and professional
