Description:
The Marketing Specialist, Digital will coordinate digital marketing activities to support corporate marketing goals for ACU and each of its lines of business. The ideal candidate will have strong subject matter expertise and must also possess a keen interest to learn and ideate in a team-first environment. The Marketing Specialist, Digital strategizes and executes against a full portfolio of web, email, mobile, social, advertising, and video.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to deliver flawless digital campaigns in a variety of channels.
- Support the content marketing strategy and act as a liaison with content teams to provide insight to create, maintain and optimize quality of channel-specific content.
- Ensure that all content carries the essence of ACU’s mission, vision and values.
- In collaboration with the marketing team, deliver web-based projects as required, including, but not limited to, website redesign and development, and landing pages.
- Provide day-to-day management of social media planning, posting, responding, analyzing and reporting back on campaign performance.
- Provide day-to-day management of email campaigns. Report back on campaign performance.
- Provide day-to-day support for ACU’s custom intranet, Thought Farmer.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners as required.
- Contribute to communications and marketing plans (develop, implement, manage) as required.
- Understand and stay up-to-date with digital media technologies, trends, vendors and best-practices.
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements (Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, Privacy requirements) and well as regulations specific to financial institutions pertaining to marketing.
Qualifications:
- The completion of a post-secondary educational program in marketing communications, accompanied by a minimum of three to six years of directly related work experience in a digital marketing environment for a mid-large sized company, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication (including the ability to write, proof-read and edit), relationship management, planning and problem solving skills, and the ability to pivot communication style based on channel needs.
- Excellent understanding of web-based technologies, email, social media marketing, social media service, and online advertising.
- Experience in Hootsuite Enterprise and Google Analytics is required. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, WordPress, OpenText CMS, and Catalyst CMS is preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude with an interest to discover and understand new digital technologies.
- Self-motivated go-getter with a knack for meeting deadlines under pressure. Able to think outside of the box and pivot when required.
- Thrives on collaboration, problem solving and accomplishing shared goals with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including vendors.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products namely: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Financial industry experience would be an asset.
