Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) was created in 2013 by the coming together of the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA), founded in 1906 and which represents English co-operatives in Canada, and the Conseil canadien de la coopération et de la mutualité (CCCM), founded in 1946 and which represents French co-operatives. CMC is the national, bilingual association for co-operatives and mutuals in Canada. Through advocacy with the federal government, it provides a knowledgeable voice committed to improving the economic and regulatory environment for co-operatives and mutuals on behalf of our members. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Executive Director is the key management leader of CMC. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. The Executive Director leads, directs and manages to maximize organizational results, meet the needs of the members, and to create understanding and support among all stakeholders.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- University degree and 7 - 10 years of senior non-profit management experience
- Fluently bilingual (English and French)
- Transparent and high integrity leadership
- Demonstrated competence in working with Boards, planning and evaluation, human resource development, financial administration, and communications
- Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decisionmaking and reporting
- Strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking ability
- Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
- Ability to relate to varied groups such as co-operatives, partners and agencies, elected and appointed government officials, and the general public
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, the co-operative forms of enterprise
