REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Toronto Enterprise Fund
BASIC FUNCTION: To support the Toronto Enterprise Fund team to ensure the effective delivery of key components of TEF’s strategy
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the delivery of the Mixed Capital Opportunities Fund, a program run in partnership with Alterna Savings & Credit Union to offer a loan/grant hybrid for social enterprises with a growth opportunity
- Support the development and implementation of new programs and grant streams resulting from TEF’s new strategy (Accelerators, Catalyzing Grants, Start-Up Grants, Clusters and Cluster Project Grants)
- Coordinate and help facilitate TEF webinars and workshops across Peel, Toronto and York regions
- Support the development and management of systems for ensuring effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, including collecting and synthesizing relevant information from TEF-supported employment social enterprises and preparing reports in a timely manner
- Working with the Capacity Building Unit, support the development of a range of volunteer and donor engagement /stewardship activities, and support new types of corporate engagement with TEF and TEF-supported employment social enterprises
- Provide support related to contract management, agency relations and UW internal processes
- Assist with maintaining and updating TEF’s external communications, including the website, social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook) and newsletters
- Manage a schedule of multi-stakeholder meetings and events, including liaising with key stakeholders, assisting with the preparation of meeting materials and notes, and keeping track of logistical details
- Participate in regular team, departmental and inter-departmental meetings and other activities
- Other team and departmental duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- More than 1 year of related experience in project coordination and/or systems management preferably within the social enterprise or community economic development fields
- Experience working with individuals from marginalized communities and staff of community-based organizations
- Passion for supporting inclusive employment of people facing barriers to the labour market (e.g. people with disabilities, newcomers, street-involved)
- Experience in the design, coordination, and facilitation of workshops, learning sessions and events
- Experience in maintaining/updating websites, social media and newsletters
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including database management
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to develop effective tracking and reporting tools
- Strong problem-solving skills with proven success at identifying, escalating and resolving issues
- Ability to coordinate and modify projects, and occasionally working with both internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent relationship skills, including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population
- Adaptable, with proven organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines under pressure
- Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and proven track record of accuracy
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends, and to travel across the regions of Peel, Toronto and York to multiple sites occasionally
- Post-secondary education in business administration, social enterprise, community economic development, or a related field is preferred
