As a not-for-profit, community-based organization, our goal is to collect and share surplus food with people that are hungry and offer training opportunities to help people step up and out of poverty. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate the need for food banks in our community.
The Training Programs Lead coordinates the efforts of instructors, facilitators, participants and the public to help individuals in our community gain employability skills. This position develops effective programming and generates key partnerships and work opportunities, integrating the internal and external resources required to equip participants with the tools to achieve their career goals.
Your Responsibilities:
- Approach your work with a sense of heart, determination and collaboration
- Ensure all training programs meet or exceed targets and generate the desired community impact
- Collaborate with instructors, facilitators and internal partners to assess and develop program curriculum utilizing adult learning principles to ensure alignment with our clients’ needs
- Develop relationships with individuals and organizations in the community and deliver effective presentations on, and establish opportunities for, partnerships to support job-readiness initiatives
- Coordinate all administrative and operational functions related to our programs such as: scheduling, planning, record keeping, reporting, programs, etc.
- Evaluate participant engagement and performance throughout the program and support their needs to overcome individual employment barriers
- Collaborate with community partners to develop work placement opportunities and referral networks for program participants upon completion
- Willingly lend a hand wherever it’s needed for our CREW!
Your Qualifications:
- A firm belief in the dignity of all human beings and a positive, caring approach
- Post-secondary education in Adult Education (CACE, PDAL, etc.) strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining and assessing training programs
- Influential interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong relationship building, public speaking and community networking capabilities
- Proven ability to organize, influence and motivate participants, volunteers and facilitators
- Familiarity with food-security and poverty issues and the available resources
- Knowledge of computer systems, databases and reporting
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Valid class 5 driver’s license required; access to a reliable vehicle preferred
