ROLE PURPOSE

The Regional Director of Community Living Programs ensures that the coordination and administration of all aspects of on-going clients services and program delivery that are assigned include the following: planning, organizing, staffing, and monitoring program activities. This position manages day-to-day operations and supports front line staff team to meet JHSLM’s service delivery needs. The Regional Director works within the framework of JHSLM’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan. In addition, ensures the delivery of client services for assigned program(s) meet or exceed client needs, funder and regulatory requirements and annual outcome targets established by JHSLM.

Lower mainland and Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Surrey)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure the development of annual outcome measurement plans (identifies goals, measurements and outcomes) and the safety and quality of service delivery of their designated programs
  • Provide direct reports to stakeholders and funders as required. This includes reporting for services), critical incidents reports, service level reporting and other reporting requirements stated in the contracts.
  • Assess and resolve operational issues and policies, that include labor relations that have been escalated from Managers that have the potential for a grievance.
  • Contributes as a member of the senior management team in developing organizational strategic plans.
  • Identify, approve, implement and/or designate opportunities for continuous quality improvement to our delivery of services.
  • Identify and implement new programs for assigned area (program and/or region).
  • Ensure that programs and client services meet our organization standards, policies and procedures and funder requirements
  • Works in collaboration with the finance team to plan, review monthly financials, provide direct input to the annual budget of their assigned programs and to make decisions that support that program within the approved budget.
  • Represents the needs of JHSLM clients to develop key relationships: participating in community committees, working groups and other community organizations to improve service delivery
  • Provides direct management, support, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to employees in addition to performance management
  • Takes on ED, Programs and Client Services accountabilities as assigned by the ED in their absence.
  • Is a role-model for professional workplace conduct and encourages and fosters a positive workplace environment
  • Provides communication to the Executive Director of Organizational Development of any exposure to risk that is presented or could emerge in program and services operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • One (1) full-time position available
  • As a full-time management position, the Regional Director regularly works 40 hours per week. Conditions of employment are outlined in the JHSLM Personnel Manual.
  • The Regional Director reports to the Executive Director of Program and Client Services
  • May be assigned management accountabilities to a program outside the community living funding stream
  • Requires the ability to perform on-call support to the managers of assigned programs
  • Ability to travel within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The Regional Director has an undergraduate degree in criminology, social sciences, social work, or other related fields or professional experience in corrections, community living, or residential programming.
  • Three to five years of professional management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with financial/human resources management, unions and non-profit management.
  • Other assets include strong leadership and interpersonal skills, conflict management and resolution strategies, as well as a positive work approach.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
  • Reliable, safe vehicle with appropriate insurance
  • Current First Aid, Level 1 and CPR certificates required
  • A current Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record review
  • Direct experience related to CARF accreditation and working in the social services sector

Annual Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for the Society’s comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
