Position Title: Community Helper - For Every Family Initiative
Classification: Part-Time Term (Through to March 31, 2020) Monday-Friday (3:30pm- 8:30pm) & Saturday (8:30am - 4:30pm)
Location: Spence Community Care Site
Salary: Subject to Qualifications

As a member of the Community Site Community Helper Team, the Community Helper will be responsible to provide services to children, youth and families residing primarily in the Neighborhood catchment area, in partnership with local residents and other community based agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work evening‘s and Saturday’s;
  • Must have working knowledge and ability to input data on a daily basis;
  • Initiate, develop and implement programs and services to address specific needs of the neighborhood;
  • Experience working with community structures and community development processes;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations;
  • Strong written/keyboarding skills;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word & Excel;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Must be willing to be a team player;
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence;
  • Respectful in order to engage people and build helping relationships;
  • Strong motivational and leadership ability;
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset;
  • Please provide an updated Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry, noting that all employees are also subject to a Prior Contact Check.
