About the Role
Directly accountable to the Site Manager, the White Wolf Speaking facilitator offers Indigenous-led and culturally-based workshops on sexual health and reproductive justice. This role requires a high degree of self-awareness to work without judgment while promoting sex-positive information and resources.
The facilitator is responsible for the development and implementation of culturally-based workshops for the Indigenous community, service providers, and partner agencies with the purpose of promoting and enhancing access to information, services, and supports on sexuality and reproductive health and justice.
This integral role includes a combination of hands-on daily activities, combined with administrative duties. The facilitator is responsible to collect, maintain, and enter statistics, create resources (workshop manuals/workbooks), and will ensure deliverables are being met.
This role is critical in supporting the organization’s development and delivery of innovative programs and services as part of Ka Ni Kanichihk’s vision and mandate.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated individual who meets the following essential requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
- Post-secondary education in Social Services or related field of study preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in workshop development, delivery, and evaluation;
- Excellent group facilitation, problem-solving, and team-building skills;
- Knowledge of sexuality and reproductive justice issues;
- Gender-based competency;
- Demonstrated computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
- Knowledge of community resources;
- Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to cultural reclamation;
- Understanding of Indigenous economic, cultural, and political environments;
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks under tight deadlines;
- Demonstrated commitment to the strengths and values of Indigenous knowledge, the rights of Indigenous people, cultural reclamation, and traditional practices
