The Skills Centre is seeking a Program Development Assistant to support the development of Skills Centre project and program proposals that align with the organization’s strategic funding priorities. This work experience placement is part of the CreateAction Inclusive Social Innovation program. The Program Development Assistant will be part of a network of 25 CreateAction participants and will join in regular peer learning and training sessions throughout the 6-month work experience, delivered by the program partners: the Canadian CED Network and the National Association of Friendship Centres.

This is a temporary full-time 34 hours per week position for 26 weeks, starting the week of January 11, 2021 and completing July 9, 2021. Job Title: Program Development Assistant
Job Description: Reporting to the Program Development Officer, this position will:
- Work with the Program Development Officer to research, identify, and develop Skills Centre program and project development opportunities in alignment with the Skills Centre’s strategic priorities
- Conduct searches for relevant funding opportunities
- Conduct regular research to grow and maintain a short, medium, and long-term pipeline of funding opportunities
- Draft proposals/applications/responses as necessary
- Provide support on proposal development process to team members
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with other not-for-profit, educational facilities and other community organizations and employers and liaises as needed to strengthen information sharing, program design, and external relations
- Participate in Skills Centre staff meetings and other staff related activities and/or events
- Adhere to all Skills Centre policies, practices, and procedures
