The Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet) is inviting applications for the position of Social Innovation Masterclass Program Coordinator, supporting the delivery of a newly developing module of CCEDNet’s Community Leadership Program focused on social innovation (SI) and social finance (SF) from a community-based perspective. This module is part of CCEDNet's SISF Connect project to develop regional SISF ecosystems, funded through the federally funded Investment Readiness Program.

About CCEDNet

The Canadian CED Network (CCEDNet) is a values-based, non-profit organization committed to strengthening the social, economic, and environmental conditions of Canadian communities.  We have several hundred members throughout Canada working at the grassroots level in rural, urban, Indigenous and northern communities. CCEDNet engages a broad and inclusive range of community interests in common efforts to influence policy, create stronger and fairer local economies, tackle poverty and homelessness, and invest in sustainable communities. 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Learning Director, and working in conjunction with the Network Engagement Lead, the Program Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate event logistics for up to 5 CLP program Social Innovation Masterclass pilot programs by:
    • Ensuring calendar invitations and video conference links are up to date
    • Ensuring facilitators are prepared in advance for sessions
    • Ensuring learners have all required materials
    • Maintaining regular communication with learners, facilitators, and CCEDNet staff working on the Community Leadership Program
    • Preparing for and attending virtual trainings as technical support
    • Supporting program administration (managing payments, etc)
  • Assist the Social Innovation Masterclass Curriculum Developer, as required
  • Support program communications and marketing
  • Document lessons learned for refinement of future programs
  • Support additional CCEDNet communications, membership, and learning opportunities in conjunction with the Engagement Team

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in any of the following fields: public education programming, event planning and execution, project coordination, communication, and/or administration
  • Expertise in hosting or providing technical support during videoconferencing (Zoom experience required)
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially email communications 
  • Comfort working from home, using virtual meeting tools, but in a collaborative team setting
  • Comfort with using G-Suite (particularly Gmail, Google Calendar, and Drive)
  • Knowledge of and commitment to poverty reduction, community development, and community economic development principles; familiarity with social innovation and social finance concepts an asset

Working Conditions

CCEDNet staff are working from home for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. This role is situated with our Engagement Team, located in Toronto and Ottawa, but the duration of the contract will be worked remotely. The successful candidate must be able to make meetings during 9am-5pm ET. If the successful applicant requires support or equipment to work from home, this can be arranged.

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time (37.5 hrs / week) term position at $23.51 / hr, beginning immediately and ending May 31, 2021, with possibility of extension (contingent upon funding renewal).
