Employment Posting: Studio 393 Assistant Manager
Graffiti Art Programming (GAP) is a community-based youth serving organization that provides free creative programming to children and youth aged 6-29. The Studio 393 Assistant Manager reports directly to the Studio 393 Manager and is responsible for supporting all programming, staffing and community initiatives of Studio 393, GAP’s satellite studio located in Portage Place Shopping Centre.
Hours: Up to 30hrs weekly (daytime and evening weekday availability required)
Wage: $19.00 per hour
An extended Health and Dental Benefit Plan is available after a 3 month probation period. This position requires interaction with other staff, participants, and the general public. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status is required for employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support with scheduling staff
- Daily workshop set-up, clean-up, general studio maintenance
- Support in-person and virtual programming, including moderating workshops
- Support with planning and implementation of Studio 393 public art projects and performances
- Manage supply and equipment inventories and purchasing
- Oversee supply kit delivery to off-site workshops, participants and staff as needed
- Maintain current community partnerships and cultivate new partnerships
- Support Studio 393 Manager in completing programming reports and data entry including inputting daily attendance
- Attend weekly GAP management meetings, and other meeting as required
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Experience working with youth
- Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent demonstrated experience in a creative medium relevant to Studio 393 programming
- Experience in arts administration and facilitation
- Strong project management, writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skills in community engagement and ability to work within an antioppressive framework
- Understanding of experiences of those living in inner-city Winnipeg communities, including knowledge of available resources and supports
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience with Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, Premier) an asset
- A strong interest in and connection to the Winnipeg arts and culture community
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
- Child abuse registry check and criminal record check
