ABOUT THE POSITION 
You will lead CCEDNet’s Learning and Innovation strategy, a key component of our Theory of Change.  This involves managing multiple staff and projects that are part of the strategy, reporting on results, participating in CCEDNet’s Leadership Team, and developing new initiatives to advance our objectives.   

OPPORTUNITY
As an accomplished leader  motivated by creating learning opportunities, this is your chance to be at the cutting edge of learning, capacity building, research and innovation projects that will inform and advance strategic practices that can have transformative potential for communities throughout Canada.  This frequently involves learning sessions, communities of practice, pilot projects and developing, documenting and promoting new models.  Often working in partnership with members and key stakeholders, and drawing on the needs identified by our members, you will be collaborating with people dedicated to community change. You will:

  • Grow a team of social change makers by recruiting, developing, and providing performance support to current and new employees by creating a supportive environment designed to reduce barriers and increase success.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the Learning and Innovation Strategy through report writing and budget management, while monitoring for process improvements and implementing best practices. 
  • Develop strategic business initiatives to increase program sustainability by identifying opportunities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, developing project plans, researching and securing funding. 
  • Establish relationships and build connections with funders, members, and stakeholders to build your network, capacity, and opportunities for collaborations. 
  • Coordinate digital logistics and facilitate training for member organizations that encourages peer learning, connection and engagement with CCEDNet. 
  • Prepare and support the delivery of CCEDNet’s national events
  • Support CCEDNet’s internal learning by collaborating with the Leadership team to identify and create learning opportunities that support our mission and values.   
  • Connect across the CCEDNet landscape to learn more about our broader work, informing your role, and building your own network.

TEAM & ENVIRONMENT
As part of the Leadership Team, you will report directly to the Executive Director. At CCEDNet, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with staff team members working on national and regional engagement as well as administration and finance. As Lead for CCEDNet’s Learning and Innovation strategy, you’ll be responsible for and work most closely with staff leading those projects.

This position can be fully remote. Or if you are located where we currently have team offices in Victoriaville (Québec), Winnipeg, Toronto or Ottawa you may choose to work hybrid or full-time in the office.

There's potential that this position may require some evening, weekend and/or overtime hours. Some domestic travel will also be required.


ABOUT YOU
As a bilingual leader with exceptional project management and facilitation skills, you are comfortable establishing and building connections in the digital space. Your skills and experience in managing logistics, coordinating and developing people, and appreciation for administrative processes are matched by your desire to make social change. You have spent time in project management, partnership management, or program coordination positions and are comfortable with programs such as G-Suite (Google Apps), Wordpress, MailChimp, and social media platforms.

You have knowledge of, and more importantly, a desire to keep learning about community economic development, social economy, social innovation, and social finance as well as an understanding of current actors and organizations involved. You want to work for an organization that aligns with your personal values and commitment to gender equity, poverty reduction, reconciliation, anti-racism / anti-oppression, diversity, and inclusion. You are aware of your own lived experience of systemic barriers or privilege, and how that shapes your unique contribution to strategic social change.  

You are an advocate, facilitator, convenor, and connector. The thought of being the lead of one of CCEDNet’s core strategies, connecting with community change leaders throughout the country is motivating, exciting, and exactly how you want to be spending your time. 

FIRST YEAR OVERVIEW

By the end of your first 2 months:

  • You will have familiarized yourself with CCEDNet, all Learning and Innovation projects, and your scope.
  • You will be coordinating the Learning and Innovation Team meetings and establishing strong relationships with those partners, you'll also be starting to create relationships with the wider partnership.
  • You will have met with each Program Manager and are familiar with their program deliverable. 
  • You will have an understanding of the broader scope of CCEDNet’s work and how your portfolio connects this work.  

After 6 months 

  • You will have continuously coordinated the Learning and Innovation Team, helping them to align their various projects.
  • You will have established your mechanisms for supporting your team members and delivering on your accountabilities. 
  • You will have deepened and applied your understanding of adult education and learning in virtual and in-person environments, incorporating practices for diversity, inclusion, equity and access.  
  • You'll have strengthened your professional network through expanded relationships with CCEDNet's members and stakeholders. 

After 1 Year

  • You will be fully leading the Learning and Innovation Strategy, with a solid awareness of CCEDNet’s expertise in the programs delivered, the impact of those programs and the opportunities for growth. 
  • You will have a plan in place for stable and sustained results contributing to CCEDNet’s Theory of Change.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time permanent position (37.5 hours / week) starting as soon as possible. 

We support our employees by offering salaries that reflect regional variances in cost of living. For this position, the starting salary range is $60,056 to $70,220 if you are located in Victoriaville or $70,104 to $81,969 if you are in Toronto, with other regions in between. We are happy to discuss the starting salary range for your region during the interview process.
