Request for Proposals - Anti-oppression & Co-liberation Training and Development
Background
CCEDNet is a values-based, non-profit association committed to connecting people and ideas for action that builds local economies, strengthens communities, and benefits everyone. We have members throughout Canada, including organizations, networks, and individuals who are strengthening sustainable and equitable local economies. Members are active across many sectors such as community development, social enterprise, rural development, co-operative development, employment development, and housing.
We are committed to the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Dignity, Self-Determination, Solidarity, and Local Control. Together, we are working towards sustainable and inclusive communities directing their own social, environmental, and economic futures through our Theory of Change.
About the Opportunity
CCEDNet is seeking the services of a Canadian consulting firm or individual(s) to support us on our continued learning related to anti-oppression and co-liberation through lenses of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The consultant will conduct an analysis of CCEDNet’s baseline knowledge of anti-oppression and co-liberation and support an ongoing program of individual and organizational learning.
While the primary language of internal operations at CCEDNet is English, bilingualism in French and English will be considered an asset as it will allow for additional support for staff, Directors or members.
It is understood that the contracted consultant(s) may need to subcontract other individuals to
ensure the team includes expertise from Indigenous, Black, and racialized individuals,
persons with disabilities, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, and/or religious minorities perspectives. The consultant(s) will work closely with members of the Leadership Team and staff from a variety of teams and positions in CCEDNet’s organizational structure.
Project Scope
In recent years, CCEDNet has invested in organizational learning on intersectionality, anti-racism, decolonization, anti-oppression and other related themes. Given staff turnover, we are looking for guidance on how to deepen and apply the learning done while onboarding new people and aligning individual journeys with a strong organizational foundation. We expect this project to improve our individual and organization's anti-oppression and co-liberation understanding and everyday practice
Our goals include
- Understanding our baseline knowledge of anti-oppression and co-liberation including gaps and the disconnect between our current and our future/desired state.
- An actionable learning and development plan that will be implemented and delivered over a nine month period.
Deliverables and Desired Outcomes
Conduct a baseline review of and assessment of CCEDNet’s current organizational level of knowledge of anti-oppression and co-liberation to develop a portrait of the state of progress towards our goal of practicing our values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Dignity, Self-Determination, Solidarity and Local Control.
Written report detailing key themes including an analysis of the gaps and disconnect between our current level of understanding and training and our future/desired state.
Written plan for a nine month training calendar, and implementation of that plan including managing virtual training logistics, delivering or coordinating facilitators for training, and post training evaluations.
A follow up report that measures the impact of the delivered training.
Budget and Timeline
Our current budget for the project is $30,000 (inclusive). Our desired timeline is a completed project by June 2023.
