Help CCEDNet identify social enterprises in Manitoba
What we're doing:
CCEDNet – Manitoba, in partnership with the BC-Alberta Social Economy Research Alliance (BALTA) are cataloguing the social enterprise sector in Manitoba.
What is a social enterprise?
For the purpose of this study, a social enterprise is a business venture owned or operated by a non-profit organization that sells goods or provides services in the market for the purpose of creating a blended return on investment, both financial and social/environmental/cultural.
How you can help:
If you operate, work for, or know of a social enterprise in Manitoba, email Ryan at roconnor@ccednet-rcdec.ca with the name of that business. If you know of other organizations that also meet the above criteria, please forward this invitation to them.
What we're doing with the information:
After we collect a comprehensive list, we will be sending each social enterprise a survey to complete. All of the information you provide us with will remain confidential, and nothing will be published without the consent of the organization involved.
Why we're doing it:
The research is intended to highlight an often misunderstood and overlooked, yet significant sector in our provincial economy. Social enterprises are helping to build fairer and stronger local economies, provide important community services, create jobs for thousands of Manitobans with barriers to employment, reduce poverty and renew communities, and create more sustainable environments.
