Food Security Evaluation Assistant

Two positions are available at Food Matters Manitoba this summer. Both positions are from May 26 – August 29, 35 hours per week, $12 per hour.

The food security evaluation assistant will:

  • Assist staff with evaluating the 2014 Dig In Challenge
  • Work with project coordinators to implement evaluations of project activities
  • Document the progress of Manitoba Food Charter signatories
  • Compile a healthy foods support resource for downtown schools
  • Compile and evaluate resources related to food security policies
  • Display and present at events
  • Other duties as assigned

About You:

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of community food security issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with proven attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to exercise independent judgement
  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s licence and occasional access to a vehicle considered an asset

*To be eligible for these positions, applicants must have been a full-time student in spring 2014 and be returning to school full-time in fall 2014, be between the age of 15 and 30, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
