The Manitoba Food Charter (MFC) is seeking a community liaison to work with northern communities on the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative.

Qualifications
The successful applicant will have/be:
- Strong skills in community facilitation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with community
- Be self motivated and a team player
- Able to multitask and meet deadlines
- Able to work flexible hours
- Able to exercise independent judgment
- Computer knowledge of word and Excel
- Have a strong-interest in and knowledge of food security issues within the Northern region
- Willing to travel
- Experience in gardening and food preserving is preferred but not essential
- Preference will be given to applicants with a strong knowledge of aboriginal culture, and experience working with First Nations and Northern Manitoba
Term: The position is an 8 month term position of a total of 1100 hours or an average of 32 hours per week ending March 31, 2010 with potential for renewal based on available funding. Salary $15-$18/ hr depending on qualifications
