Community Economic Development (CED) Intern (CreateAction Intern)

The CED Intern must meet the following criteria:

  • Canadian citizen or legal residence status 30 years or under
  • University or College graduate with a degree or diploma and not in school
  • Demonstrated interest and career aspirations in Community Economic Development
  • Not receiving employment insurance benefits
  • Not currently employed in a field related to your post secondary studies

Qualifications:

  • Background of community volunteering
  • Excellent interpersonal, research, writing, communication, and computer skills

Community Land Trust Research and Developmental Role (CreateAction Intern)

Description of the Project:

The Canadian Center for Community Renewal (CCCR) has been working in B.C. to introduce the community land trust tenure as a means of building a segment of the housing market that is affordable in perpetuity. There are two dimensions of work to date that shape this internship position:

EVENT COORDINATOR (CreateAction Intern)

JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Fresh Outlook Foundation (FOF) has received funding through the federal CreateAction program to hire a full-time event coordinator for six months, starting immediately. The successful applicant must be under 30, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a graduate of a post-secondary institute, college, or university. The applicant must not be receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits. The contract is for 35 hours a week at $15/hr.

The Community Planning Council of Greater Victoria is recruiting a Sustainability Assistant on a twenty-five week work experience internship funded by the Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.  The position, reporting to the Executive Director, will assist in the Council’s work to promote youth community economic development in the region.

DESCRIPTION:

The Aboriginal Business and Community Development Centre is a non-profit society, incorporated under the British Columbia Society Act on July 22, 1997.

We are a results oriented team of professionals, working together in unity to provide a full spectrum of culturally, client sensitive, business and economic development services to assist Aboriginal individuals, organizations and communities to achieve 'their' full potential. We are currently serving over 2,100 Aboriginal clients.
