Variety, the Children's Charity of Manitoba has been providing supports and programming to children living with special needs and experiencing economic disadvantage since 1978. We are dedicated to raising funds which enable us to meet the needs of children of all abilities in Manitoba. Variety is a non-disease specific children’s charity whose goal is to improve the quality of life for children who are living with special needs and those impacted by economic disadvantage.

Program Manager, Climate Action Team

Position Summary: You are an independent, energetic and results oriented individual who can plan, implement and oversee Manitoba’s Road to Resilience: Community Climate Action project. The project will build momentum for climate action in Manitoba and with specific rural and Indigenous communities through education and engagement activities, as well as provide tools and resources for implementing low carbon solutions in those communities.

  • April Folz: Economic Development Director, Sheshegwaning First Nation. Learn about the growing importance of developing innovative solutions to bring fresh food to her community located on Manitoulin Island, approximately 112km west of Little Current, especially in light of COVID-19.

NEWC is located on Treaty 1 territory on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. NEWC facilitates opportunities for women-identified people in healing, wellness and capacity building through diverse community-centred approaches.

Towards a More Co-operative Economy - Spring Forum 2021

Spring ForumCo-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) is hosting a national online forum on how co-operatives can grow Canada’s co-op economy. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 2:00-3:30pm (EDT) via Zoom. There is no charge to participate.

Participants will have the opportunity to share challenges and opportunities while learning from the experience of others. The forum is moderated by John Kay and Sylvie Naud and features simultaneous interpretation to English and French.
