WHITEFEATHER FOREST INITIATIVE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR MAJOR TRAINING PROGRAM

The Whitefeather Forest Initiative (WFI) is a partnership-based community economic renewal and resource stewardship initiative led by Pikangikum First Nation in northwest Ontario. A multi-year training project has been developed to ensure that Aboriginal people will be able to gain employment with the WFI. A dynamic Executive Director with a commitment to supporting First Nation culture and economic renewal is being sought to lead the training project.

Program Facilitator

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg is seeking a Program Facilitator for our Victor Mager Club in St. Vital. This is a full-time position with benefits. Assets include education and/or experience planning and delivering recreation, education and social programs for young people; knowledge of youth development; experience working in cross-cultural settings; and experience initiating and facilitating projects. 2009 Growing Local Food Security Conference

The Manitoba Food Charter is pleased to invite you to save the date for the 2009 Growing Local Food Security Conference, February 20 & 21, 2009 at the University of Winnipeg.

The conference will be a chance to showcase existing food security projects and develop new skills as participants work towards greater food security in Manitoba. Over two days, hands-on workshops, discussions and displays will cover such topics as do-it-yourself food skills workshops, indigenous food culture, knowledge & skills, rural/urban connections, and climate change & the food and fuel crisis.

The Manitoba Food Charter Inc. is coordinating this conference with our Manitoba Food Network partners from the Canadian Community Economic Development Network, Harvest Moon Food Group, Heifer International, Organic Food Council of Manitoba, the University of Manitoba, and the Turtle Mountain Development Corporation. The Conference is funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Province of Manitoba's Health and Healthy Living, with sponsorship by the University of Winnipeg.

Executive Director

The Farmers' Markets Association of Manitoba Co-op Inc. (FMAM), a not for profit co-op, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Executive Director for their organization. This could be a shared position depending upon the skills of the applicants.

The Executive Director oversees the day-to-day operations of FMAM, taking direction from the Board of Directors. The position is a contract with flexible hours but will require attendance at all face-to-face or conference call Board meetings and other selected events.
