At the second event, we expect to formally launch the North America sub-region of the International Organisation of Industrial, Artisanal and Service Producers’ Co-operatives.

These events are organized jointly by the Canadian Worker Co-op Federation and Le Réseau de la coopération du travail du Québec with the support of the United States Federation of Worker Co-ops, La Fédération québécoise des coopératives forestières and the North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO).\


 

Coordinator

CEDEC is hiring a Coordinator to work in its Greater Montreal Area office.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, developing and administering the CEDEC Action Plan (Appendix A) in light of the CEDEC objectives and the CEDEC Strategic Plan (Appendix B)

  • Engaging, inspiring and collaborating with volunteers and stakeholders

Compensation: 
$44,500 – $51,514 (according to experience)

Immigrant and refugee persons face serious settlement challenges. Integrating into their new community is made exceedingly difficult due to their limited social and professional networks, the non-recognition of foreign experience and credentials, and the competitive nature of the Canadian labour market. Increasingly, newcomers are frustrated by being on the margins of Canadian society.

ANSER Annual Conference

ANSER (The Association of Nonprofit and Social Economy Research) will hold its annual conference as part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences at Concordia University, June 2nd to 4th, 2010. Henry Mintzberg of McGill University will be the keynote speaker, Wednesday, June 2nd, at 4 pm. Anyone with an interest in the conference is invited to attend.

There is a reduction for early registration before March 31st, 2010. The Congress website also includes information on accommodation, discounts for travel, and local information.
