Celebrating 5 years as Manitoba's premiere food security event, Growing Local will once again bring together consumers, farmers, traditional food harvesters, CED food actors and everyone in between, for 3 inspired days of learning and sharing.

The Conference will feature 30+ workshops, panels & displays on topics such as Do-it-Yourself Food Skills • Community Connections • Gardening Food & Health • Farm Stories • Indigenous Food Culture.

Food Sovereignty and the Green Economy: Challenges and Strategies for the Social Justice Movement

Help kick-off the conference on February 23 (7-8:30pm) with a special event with Winonan LaDuke (right), an internationally acclaimed Anishinaabe author and orator.

Winona will be speaking about the work of Indigenous communities around food sovereignty and food security issues, and how these relate to broader environmental, political and economic trends. Tickets are $15.
