Today, Crossroads is raising approximately one-million annually. We are seeking a dynamic fundraising professional to help take our program to the next level.
As a member of the senior management team, the Director Resource Development and Communications contributes to setting the organization’s strategic direction and leads the successful execution of departmental plans. Working with members of the Crossroads team, the Director ensures a compelling articulation of fundraising priorities and develops annual performance goals with measurable outputs.
Our ideal candidate is a leader with a gift for donor engagement and solid experience in major gifts, strategy, prospect and volunteer management and a proven track record in growing fundraising portfolios. The candidate will be a skilled communicator with a flair for marketing and strong ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and compelling manner. Strong and inspiring supervisory experience is important. The candidate will bring vision, energy and team leadership to the department and will measure their performance against goal and strive to meet and exceed objectives. The candidate will possess well developed verbal, written and presentation skills, working knowledge in applicable computer programs and databases.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- CFRE designation and a degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as resource development, marketing or journalism
- Five to seven years (5-7) progressively responsible management experience including staff supervision
- Demonstrated experience soliciting and securing major gifts
- Demonstrated experience managing diverse portfolio including major gifts, grants, annual program, marketing communications and volunteer engagement
- Demonstrated experience in researching and writing proposals and securing foundation support
- Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills with a good ability to popularize complex issues and proven presentation skills
- Bilingual English/French preferred, functional French required
- Strong leadership and management skills; the ability to coach, motivate and lead fundraising and communications team and volunteers
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills and ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders
- Strong analytical, financial management and budgeting skills
- Initiative, tact, diplomacy and creativity
- Experience in international development is an asset.
Position Type: Full Time, one year contract with the possibility of renewal with competitive salary and benefits.
