Student Parent Support Worker

Position Purpose

The Student Parent Support Worker is responsible for building relationships with up to a maximum of 30 students and families in the Pathways program, which includes monitoring each students’ progress, providing advocacy and counseling support as needed, offering referrals to other support agencies as appropriate, and managing the financial incentives of the program for the students.

Coordinator of Tutoring and Literacy

Position Purpose

The Program Facilitator – Tutoring is responsible for developing and facilitating a positive, safe and effective tutoring program for Pathways’ youth working with volunteer tutors. Youth in the Pathways program have a range of abilities and interests that reflect a variety of learning needs; the aim of the tutoring program is to support the development of effective study skills in core academic areas.

Program Facilitator – Group Mentoring (2 Positions)

Position Purpose

The Mentor Facilitator is responsible for developing and facilitating a positive, safe and effective group mentoring program for high school youth working in cooperation with the Mentor and Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator. The responsibilities include facilitating and organizing mentoring activities, workshops, speakers, field trips in the key mentoring areas. The key mentoring areas include health & wellness, nutrition, recreation, sports, arts, music and culture.

Community Coordinator

About the Position

Elmwood Communities That Care (CTC) is a community-wide initiative to promote positive, healthy development of children and youth. The goal of CTC is to develop healthy behaviours for all children and youth by providing opportunities, skills, and recognition; in families, schools, communities and peer-groups.

The Community Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all CTC activities in the community, which includes community mobilization, board operations and assisting in developing a comprehensive strategic prevention framework.
