  • Is there a market for Community-Based Carbon Offsets?: In fall 2007, the Government of BC committed to being carbon neutral by 2010. It's pretty much impossible to change your infrastructure in such a short time period, and so the only way government can achieve that goal is by purchasing carbon or greenhouse gas offsets. The BC government will pay $25 to remove one tonne of carbon; they have committed to investing 100% of this money in BC.

The BC CED Network, together with Coast Capital Savings and the Vancity Foundation, are pleased to announce $1000 bursaries are now available for ten practitioners to upgrade their CED skills and knowledge through Simon Fraser University's Certificate Program for CED Professionals, starting Fall 2008.
