As part of the team at Winnipeg Harvest and working in support of and within the agency’s mission, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, the goal of this position is to ensure that there is a consistent and supportive relationship by proactively building and maintaining healthy relationships with Food Distribution Agencies in Winnipeg and Manitoba, who receive surplus food distributed by Winnipeg Harvest.

Come join Social Enterprise Manitoba, the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and Transition Winnipeg as we partner to host an after-hours meet up and idea jam. We are bringing together the social enterprise, business and environmental community to meet, mingle, problem-solve and provide input on exciting local economy intiatives in Winnipeg related to:

  • Inclusive job and training opportunities for people facing barriers to employment.
  • Sustainable, low-carbon initiatives.

Format: The evening will primarily consist of informal networking and conversation-making, however, will also include an opportunity for three (3) enterprising initiatives related to sustainability and/or inclusive employment to present their idea, concept or proposal for a community brainstorming process. Each initiative will be given 10 minutes to present, followed by 10 minutes of questions and brainstorming.

Call for submissions: Do you have a local economy initiative related to inclusive employment or sustainability? This is an opportunity to present your idea, forge new partnerships and seize the power of community brainstorming.

Submissions are to be no longer than 5 pages, and should include:

  • The opportunity (problem) you see.
  • How your idea will capture that opportunity.
  • What you hope to get out of presenting at the event.
