Many people underplay the role of a facilitator. A great Facilitator is generally not noticed, but the work and accomplishments are remembered. Unfortunately when there is poor facilitation, it is often all we notice. The cost of poor facilitation is participant frustration and ideas or decisions that are often inadequate of limited. This workshop will focus on some basic skills in facilitation so they will remember the work, not you!

FACILITATOR

Janet SchmidtJanet Schmidt currently focuses on facilitating conversations whether that be a strategic planning process or interpersonal conflict. Her passion is to get people to talk to each other in honest and constructive ways, believing that these dialogues can have the greatest impact in our communities and in our relationships. Janet continues to work with Mediation Services in the ongoing development of the training program. In the last few years, Janet has worked in Canada, US, Haiti and Mexico, in contexts as varied as private companies, federal government, healthcare and the highest leadership levels of an international development organization.

Program Assistant

Nature Manitoba is seeking to hire a Program Assistant for Bridging the Gap. The contract is based out of Winnipeg and will require approximately 35 work hours from May to the beginning of July (dependent on completion of duties) with the possibility of extension. The position requires travel to various schools throughout Winnipeg (predominantly within the inner-city). Mileage is reimbursed.

Summer Sports Program Coordinator

Spence Neighbourhood Association is looking to fill a full-time Summer Sports Program Coordinator position.
The Spence Neighbourhood Association is looking for a program coordinator who is responsible for organizing community sports activities for youth ages 6-18. The main component of the program is running of spring soccer academy and summer soccer league for up to 200 youth. The position also involves connecting youth to new sports opportunities and working to remove barriers to sports for inner city kids
