The Social Enterprise Network of Central Ontario (senco) is an initiative of Georgian College's Centre for Changemaking and Social Innovation and has created this Social Enterprise 101 session to provide you with an in-depth understanding on what defines a social enterprise. Throughout this session social enterprise business models will be reviewed and a series of existing social enterprises will be explored. If you are interested to learn more about social enterprise, considering starting a social enterprise, or looking to build social impact into your business you’ll want to attend this session.

senco Series 2: Flourishing Social Enterprise Business Model [West Cohort]

senco Series 2: Flourishing Social Enterprise Business ModelOur communities are facing challenges like never before. Challenges like putting food on tables, roofs over heads, ensuring there is clean water to drink, and programs to support those who it need it most. It is no longer enough to just work a job. We need businesses and places within organizations where people’s ideas on how to solve these challenges are allowed to contribute, grow and flourish. Let us at SENCO and Georgian’s Centre For Changemaking and Social Innovation help you or your organization take the first step to building out a Flourishing Social Enterprise.

Register for senco Series 2: Flourishing Social Enterprise Business Model [West Cohort]

Using the Flourishing Social EnterpriseTM canvas as our starting point, we will put together the tools you need to kick-start your initiative. These sessions will work you through a prototyping loop to make sure you are testing your idea before ‘going live’. Successful prototyping unlocks access to additional community support including resource dollars.

What you get:

  • Learn how to pivot and understand how to gain traction with your model
  • You get a completed flourishing business model canvas and plan
  • How to ‘pitch’ your Social Enterprise’s story
  • Assembling your value proposition for your stakeholder audiences
  • You get the opportunity to access to community start-up resources
  • Access to entrepreneurship and business mentors (and/or other service provider support)

Dates & Locations:

East Cohort -> Barrie/Midland/Orillia/Bracebridge
January 9th, 16th, 23rd 3-7pm

West Cohort -> Collingwood/Owen Sound/Orangeville
February 6th, 13th & 20th 3-7pm

This ticket is for the full series which includes 3 Colab Sessions on January 9th, 16th, 23rd from 3-7pm. Session will be held at Georgian Campuses and location will be based on registration across the East campuses of Barrie/Midland/Orillia/Bracebridge.

senco is an initiative of Georgian College's Centre for Changemaking and Social Innovation and has created this Social Enterprise Impact Measurement Community of Practice (SEIM-COP) to provide you with:

  • an opportunity to learn what impact measurement is all about
  • to meet others in the region also looking to gain understanding of impact measurement
  • to find out about new tools used for impact measurement
  • to share stories of positive impact happening in your community
  • to meet senco's team
  • and to find out what other resources are available for you to grow your enterprise
