WORKSHOP FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS - HELPING CANADIANS WITH THEIR WORK AND MONEY CHALLENGES

WORKSHOP FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS

HELPING CANADIANS WITH THEIR WORK AND MONEY CHALLENGES

Topic: Free Resources to Help with Questions and Challenges Related to "Money" and "Work"

• There are thousands of community service agencies in Canada working to help Canadians with their problems, challenges, and opportunities. And there are tens of thousands of Canadians connecting with these organizations on a daily basis - Canadians who are experiencing problems related to debt, employment, benefits, abuse, taxes, banking, cheque-cashing, and so on.

• Many community organizations are able to help Canadians with money and work challenges - but staff expertise and training is often in other areas of help - although personal and family problems may stem from money and employment issues.

• The purpose of this workshop is to provide help to those who are in a position to help Canadians with money and work issues and questions - but who may lack the background and knowledge to provide such assistance with confidence.

• The workshop is being organized by the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) a charitable, non-profit, non-partisan organization working to help Canadians to build successful futures. CFEE, and the workshops, are supported by funding from the Government of Canada through Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC).

• There is no cost for attending the workshop. There will be no effort to sell any kind of product. Our only goal is to support and assist the community organizations and staff in their work. All resources and access to the websites that have been developed to provide support and assistance are free of charge.

• Please come and join us for the workshop. The following is the information on the workshop to be held in your area. Space is limited to please call or e-mail to indicate that you will be attending. Thank you!

Student action housing

WHO SLEEPS HERE?

No one!!

We are a group of concerned students who are staging a non-violent direct action in the
form of a sleep-in at the corner of Kenaston and Corydon on Friday, June 6 from
4:00 - 6:30 pm
. We are doing this to draw attention to the 126 homes of the C.F.B.
Winnipeg South Site Housing beside Kapyong Barracks that remain empty, despite
various groups lobbying for short-term solutions while the legal details of selling these
houses are resolved. We are asking for your support in "rallying the troops" to send the
Department of National Defence (DND), Canadian Lands Company (CLC) Limited, and
political parties a clear message that having these homes sit empty for four years has been unacceptable and needs to change immediately.
