Neighbourhood Safety Coordinator

About the Position:

During this seven month term position, the Neighbourhood Safety Coordinator will work closely with the PCRC Executive Director and Community Facilitator as well a number of community partners to meet the PCRC goal “to promote initiatives that enhance a feeling of safety and well-being.”

This is a part-time position at 20-24 hours / week. The position is a 7 month term until August 31, 2012. The wage is $13-15 per hour dependant on experience.

About the Position:

The North End Community Renewal Corporation is a non profit organization with the mandate of social, economic and cultural renewal of the north end. The organization is seeking a Greening/Food Security Facilitator to support and promote opportunities for north end residents to access sustainable, nutritious food through food security and greening activities.

Salary: One year contract, ($30- $36,000) dependant upon qualifications and funding

Winnipeg Food Share Co-op is a community service co-op. The Co-op provides healthy foods in communities where easy access to such food is a challenge. Food Share Co-op is responding to a need for healthy, accessible and affordable food for inner city families of low income. As well, the cooperative structure builds skills and capacity among local community members, and contributes to a sense of community in the neighbourhoods it serves.

This staff is a detail oriented, efficient and resourceful individual with strong interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills, able to meet the challenges of working with a culturally diverse group of community members.
